An 18lbs difference in Body Composition!

I am 48 years old. When I first started at EducoGym in Leamington Spa I wasn’t a particularly healthy individual. I had high blood pressure, high cholesterol and been diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic.

I was fortunate to take part in the 12 day programme – training every day and taking strict control over my nutrition, these are the results over 12 days…

Fat loss 11 lbs
Muscle gain 6.25 lbs
Body fat down 5%
Loss of 3 inches off my waist

I explained my concerns about diabetes to Dave who said that “diabetes may be controlled by scientific exercise and nutrition, my hormones may then rebalance themselves naturally (at no time did Dave recommend that I come off the medication).

For a healthy individual the blood sugar level should be 6.  I was on Metformin (a diabetic drug) 3 tablets per day and my blood sugar level on average ranged from 12-13 but rose to 17, 9, 22 and even 24.

In my first week of training these are my results for my blood sugar levels on no medication

Day one – 9.1
Day three – 8.7
Day four – 7.1
Day seven – 6.1

Some of the things I have learnt fly in the face of fitness, medical and nutritional wisdom – how can 20 minutes of exercise make you fit, give you a cardio workout, lose fat and gain muscle?

I have today (11 March 2008) visited my practice nurse and my GP to find the results of my annual diabetic screening.  These are my results…

Cholesterol level 5.0
Average blood sugar level 5.5

I no longer take cholesterol tablets, diabetic tablets and have reduced my blood pressure medication by half.

A few weeks on after another 6 sessions I lost an additional 4 lbs of fat, another 1.5 inches off my waist and maintained my lean muscle mass.

I am so grateful to have met Dave & Tam,  for their support, knowledge and expertise and for the EducoGym system for turning my life around.
